Monday QB Blog W/ Rich Popp-Popp's QB Tutor

Communication is a vital component to gaining support from parents.

1.  Have a regular communication system in place

2.  Always be up to date with the information

3.  Be a consistent communicator

4.  Set up a time, each week, where the parents can be involved in what goes on with their children.  Football example: On walk through days, allow them on the field so they can see and learn what their children are learning.

Yes, it is tough, it will take some time, but the payoff is incredible.

Work hard, work smart

Performance alleviates all doubt.

This refers to sports, but also to life.  All of you who feel you deserve a chance, be ready, as your chance will come.  When it does, your performance will do one of two things.

1)  You will leave no doubt that you are the right person for the position.  Be it the starting quarterback on the football team, the starting setter on the volleyball team, or the next president of the company, your excellent performance will let everyone know you have earned the position.

or

2)  You will leave no doubt that you have not yet earned the position.  If your performance is lack luster or not up to par, you will have made the statement that you are not ready for the position.

Understand that this is the most positive position you can be in.  You control of your destiny with what you want to earn.

Now, I dare you to prepare to perform to the utmost of your ability.

Work hard, work smart

CHAMP CAMP HELPFUL HINTS!

Posted by brad in Untagged

Champ Camp Athletes:
9am-12pm (3,4,5,6th grade)
1pm-4pm (7,8,incoming 9th grade)
Thank you for being a part of the 2nd Annual Champ Camp in Livonia, this year held at Livonia Churchill High School.  Thank you to Coach John Filiatraut & the Churchill staff for their support and the support of all of our local grade school & high school teams.
REMINDERS:
*You must have a completed form in order to participate.  Those who have not filled one out, please download one from the website.  You can turn it in tomorrow at registration.
*Registration begins 45 minutes before the Camp begins.  If you are running late, please see a coach so they can check you in.
*We are still taking registration if someone wants to sign up last minute.
*Dress appropriately for weather.  It looks to be 70-74 tomorrow, with periods of rain.  We will practice in the rain, but not a steady or heavy downpour.  Obviously we are off the field with thunder/lightning according to Michigan rule. (We will go inside for chalk talk until weather clears)
*If by chance we have to cancel one of the sessions, the morning session may attend the afternoon session.  If the entire day gets canceled, then we will pro-rate and give a credit to next-year's camp per day. (That is only if we are not allowed inside for any reason) Weather will be on & off this week, but chances are we will be on the field or inside, so plan on drop-off & pickup to NOT change unless you are called.
*For the safety of the Camp, parents are not allowed on the field or track.  The bleachers are off limits to parents and kids for liability reasons.  Campers are NOT allowed to leave the premises unless a parent or guardian is there to pick them up early.
*QUARTERBACKS: Coach Rich Popp has asked all QB's to bring a football they are comfortable with throwing.  If you do not have one, one will be provided for you.
*Snack information: Snacks will be Frito-Lay products along with Minute-Maid juice boxes (assorted).  Please let us know if there are any issues.  They are all non-peanut based.
*Remember, do not bring valuables, hats, phones, jewelry, money, I-pods, or anything that can get lost.  Make sure you wear something to run in (football spikes are preferred, but soccer works, as well as regular gym shoes).  We will provide a T-shirt to all of those who registered already.  Any shortages will be given by Wednesday.
Any questions, please Email or call Coach Brad Dickey
Here's to another great Champ Camp!
